The people behind the top rehab exercise library
Alex has been interested in complementary therapies since 2002 when she visited India and learnt about Ayurvedic medicine. She has trained in Swedish massage, Indian head massage, Reiki, and Reflexology; the latter is an amazing therapy to both have and practice. The feet can tell her a huge amount about the body, the condition shape and colour along with any areas of tenderness. Alex always endeavours to make you feel relaxed, comfortable and informed at every step. It is hugely important for her to get to know you, your specific issues, and your requirements and to help you achieve optimum health through your feet!
Alex has joined the Physiomedicare team to offer Reflexology in Chapel Allerton and North Leeds on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Reflexology works on the principle that there are various points on the feet which reflect different areas in the body. When pressure is applied to these points it stimulates the movement of energy along the nerve channels, helping to restore homeostasis (balance) in the whole body.
As well as being a relaxing and uplifting treatment, Reflexology has a growing clinical reputation and may be used to support a wide variety of health issues, such as:
A treatment lasts 60 minutes. Within this, an initial consultation will take place to learn about you and your specific reasons for the treatment. A treatment plan will be tailor made for you and the reflexology will begin. Pressure will be applied to all areas of the feet and ankles. A discussion about the therapist’s findings from the treatment, aftercare and follow-up treatments will end the session. Oil/cream can be applied to the feet at the end of the treatment.
For more information about the treatments Alex offers or to book a session, visit her website: www.leedsreflexology.co.uk, email her directly at: info@leedsreflexology.co.uk or call her at 07815 024797
Alex’s clinic hours at Physiomedicare are: Monday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Vicky has joined the Physiomedicare clinic in Chapel Allerton offering Acupuncture treatments on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Vicky has recently completed a 3-year degree level Professional Licentiate in Five Element Acupuncture from the Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa. She is passionate about helping her patients regain optimal health and well-being, treating both mind and body with acupuncture as well as other complementary techniques such as moxibustion, cupping therapy and Gua Sha where appropriate.
Vicky has always been interested in alternative therapies and decided to re-train as an acupuncturist after experiencing the benefits of acupuncture herself:
“Acupuncture initially helped me when I was experiencing a period of ill health, I was stressed and my immune system was rock bottom. Acupuncture helped to bring my health back into balance and reduce my stress levels which were no doubt affecting my immunity. A few years later I sought out acupuncture to help me with fertility and subsequent IVF treatment, the acupuncture treatment and support from my acupuncturist through this period of my life was what I believe enabled me to conceive my baby. Fertility is an area I have a special interest and knowledge in and I want to help others achieve their dream of having a baby.”
Vicky is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and holds full public liability insurance. As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, she practices in accordance with their strict code of practice and ethics.
Acupuncture is effective in treating both physical and emotional complaints as well as improving general well-being. We treat the body as a whole and aim to get to the root cause, rather than alleviating symptoms temporarily.
Please get in touch with Vicky to book an appointment, Vicky is happy to discuss any queries you might have and how acupuncture can help you.
